The devastating wildfires raging through Los Angeles have destroyed over 1,000 structures, including the homes of several celebrities. Among those affected are Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Billy Crystal, and Mandy Moore.
The picturesque Pacific Palisades neighborhood suffered some of the worst destruction, with fires expanding from a few hundred acres to over 15,000 acres in just days. Actor James Woods emotionally described losing his property there, calling it “heartbreaking.”
Billy Crystal, whose family lived in their Pacific Palisades home since 1979, shared his grief:
“Every inch of our house was filled with love and memories. We are heartbroken but determined to rebuild.”
Paris Hilton lost her Malibu home, sharing her anguish on Instagram:
“Watching our home burn on live TV is devastating. This house held so many precious memories.”
Actor Adam Brody and his wife, Leighton Meester, also lost their home, as did reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, who recounted watching their house burn via security cameras.
Singer and actress Mandy Moore posted a video of her destroyed neighborhood, expressing gratitude for her family’s safety while mourning her community’s losses.
“Our children’s school is gone, favorite restaurants leveled. But we will rebuild together.”
Ricki Lake, Diane Warren, and General Hospital star Cameron Mathison also lost their homes, with Mathison describing the heartbreak of seeing his family’s memories reduced to ash.
Mark Hamill evacuated his Malibu home at the last minute, while Jamie Lee Curtis pledged $1 million with her husband Christopher Guest to support recovery efforts.
Meanwhile, Steve Guttenberg stayed behind to assist firefighters, urging neighbors to leave car keys for easy evacuation of vehicles blocking firetrucks.
The fires have affected not only celebrities but countless residents across the region. Many stars have called for donations and support for the affected communities as they begin the long road to recovery.
These wildfires serve as a stark reminder of the destructive power of nature and the resilience required to rebuild after tragedy.
